Shima Seiki Mfg, a global name in flat knitting technology, is set to capture industry attention at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore this October. Under the theme Shima Seiki Reborn, the company is reaffirming its passion for progress by presenting its advanced R-generation machines designed to shape the future of textile production.

At the exhibition, visitors will witness the launch of the SES-R computerized knitting machine, a commercial model evolved from the prototype that drew global acclaim at ITMA 2023 in Milan. Building on the legacy of the iconic SES series that once transformed modern shaped knitting, the SES-R features a new sinker system for sophisticated 3D shaping. With advanced loop pressers and automatic yarn carriers, it enables complex designs such as intarsia, i-Plating, inverse plating and inlay knitting. Its versatility makes it ideal for apparel, sportswear, interiors, and technical textiles, with demonstrations planned in 14 gauge.

This year also marks three decades of Wholegarment knitting, and Shima Seiki celebrates the milestone with the debut of the SWG-XR Wholegarment machine, an evolved successor to the pioneering SWG-X. Featuring four needle beds and the patented SlideNeedle, the SWG-XR delivers finer quality garments with a 25 percent boost in productivity and broader patterning options.

Complementing its machines, Shima Seiki will also highlight its growing digital ecosystem, including APEXFiz design software, SDS KnitPaint-Online, and integrated web platforms that simplify workflows and encourage sustainable practices. With these innovations, the company is positioning itself at the forefront of smart, speedy, and sustainable knitting solutions for the future.
