A new Textile Export Facilitation Centre (TEFC) has been launched in Jaipur to help small and medium textile businesses grow in international markets. This centre has been set up by the Ministry of Textiles along with the Textiles Committee.
The main aim of this centre is to make exporting easier for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). Many small textile businesses want to export their products but face problems like lack of information, complex rules, and slow processes. The new centre will help solve these issues.
The Jaipur centre is part of a larger plan, and similar centres have already been opened in cities like Surat, Varanasi, and Ludhiana. Jaipur was chosen because it has a strong base in traditional textiles, handicrafts, and garments.
The TEFC will act as a one-stop solution for exporters. It will provide services like market research, export training, and guidance on international trade rules. Businesses will also get help in understanding trade agreements and government schemes.
One of the biggest benefits is faster documentation. Exporters can now get important certificates, like the Certificate of Origin, within a few hours. This will save time and make the export process smoother.
The centre will also guide businesses on how to enter new markets. While most exporters focus on the US and Europe, the government is now encouraging trade with countries in Latin America and other emerging regions. This will help Indian exporters reduce their dependence on a few markets.
Another important focus is sustainability and compliance. Many international buyers now demand eco-friendly products and proper certifications. The centre will help businesses meet these global standards and improve their chances of getting export orders.
Overall, this new centre is expected to boost textile exports from Rajasthan and support small businesses in growing globally. It will also create more opportunities for entrepreneurs and strengthen India’s position in the global textile industry.
